You can fly direct to Zakynthos Airport between the months of
May to October from most UK airports. It is possible to visit the
Island outside of these dates but you may have to travel via
                                                                 Athens International Airport or another
airport of your choice. (check Easyjet)

It is possible to fly or get a ferry via Italy,
Turkey or other Greek islands that stay
                                                                 open during the winter period.

Easy Jet fly direct to Athens from Gatwick & Luton airports. Olympic Airlines fly from
Gatwick, Heathrow and Manchester. From Athens you can get a connecting flight with
Olympic Airways or rent a car at the airport and drive to Killini (approx 4 hours) and get
the ferry to Zakynthos Port (1 hour). It is also possible to get a bus from Athens to
Killini and then jump on the ferry. Our villa is just 30 minutes away from Zakynthos port.

You may have the time to visit other nearby Islands like Crete, Rhodes, Cyprus, Kefalonia or simply chill out and relax in Villa Karissa. You must be aware that there are only one or two local shops and tavernas open during November to April and a car is essential. The main town of Zakynthos however goes about its normal business and is so enjoyable both day and night. Many of the coffee bars and restaurants remain open during the winter season.

We can advise you how to get out to Athens or Zakynthos and provide you with as much information as we can. We often spend time out of season ourselves and try to see as much of Greece on the way, it really is so enjoyable. Email us at villakarissa@hotmail.co.uk with the dates you would like to travel.

If you are a seasoned or regular traveler, out of season visits are highly recommended as obviously most tourist areas are closed on the island and you get the opportunity to blend in more with local life. On your way to Zakynthos spend time in Athens, visit the Acropolis, Olympia and many interesting Archeological Museums. Stop of at Corinth
or maybe  stay in a quite little village on the Peloponnese all this and much more can be achieved on your way to Killini Port.
